I’m not an astronomer so I don’t actually study space as my job……but I work with astronomers a lot and this has got me interested in space (well even more than I was already!). If I look up at the sky on a clear night, then wow…you’ve got to get interested? The universe is so vast that I think most of us are fascinated by what’s in it and of course how it formed in the first place!
Truth be told, I am absolutely fascinated by the universe (space). It’s amazing to think that when you look up at the sky you are effectively looking back in time. For example, when light travels from each of these stars (specks of light in the sky), It takes light a very long time for light to travel from each of those stars to our eyes so that we can see them! It’s amazing to think that the next time you look at one of those stars, it could be gone… and what remains in its space is something that fascinates me. The universe is vast, hugely complicated but also strangely very beautiful. There are also some really strange objects out in the universe and understanding these objects and how the universe formed is something of utmost importance to us. This is why I like studying space, it’s ultra cool and mindboggling!
