I have worked for the Royal Navy for 4 years. I have worked on the ship for just over a year (I joined in January last year). I will most probably leave this job and go to another job (who knows what that will be) in June this year….. someone else will get to do my job!
I’ve been at Jaguar Land Rover since September last year, I am currently on the graduate scheme which lasts for 2 years and involves lots of placements around the company and a whole range of training courses (in February I was in the Lake District building a raft which we rowed out into freezing water!). I’m not sure exactly what I will do in the future but I think I will stay here for around 5 years to build up my experience before I move on.
I started at my current consultancy company – Mott MacDonald in 2008. I am currently on secondment to London Underground for at least six months, but maybe a whole year. This is a ‘client’ company so it is interesting to see how and why things get prioritised.
I am interested in working for a contractor company so that I can spend some time working on how to practically get things built. I don’t yet have a plan on when I make this change. It will depend on if I continue to get interesting project to work on.
Like Omar, I’m a graduate and have been on the scheme since September too. My scheme’s slightly longer at 4 years so my plan is to stay in the company until at least then and maybe more as I’m really enjoying working here.
I have been working my current job (in Dubai) for 11 months now – I have another 13 months of this project before i return to the UK but who knows, if a good job became available in The UK soon, i may move back earlier than expected!!
