I don’t really do projects in the traditional way companies do – we do deployments.

I have done 2 deployments, each 6 months long. The first was to the Nothern Arabian Gulf in 2010 to provide security for the Al Basrah Oil Terminal. The most recent one was to the Indian Ocean for Counter Piracy Operations – there is more information about that deployment here if you are interested: http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceNews/MilitaryOperations/RoyalNavyFreesFishermenFromSuspectedSomaliPirates.htm

      Hello Lampost101,

As an aircraft engineer, i guess you could say that every job i do is a project – i have to know what has happened, work out how to fix, what tools should i use, how long will it take etc.

I have probably completed thousands of projects in my career from wheel changes to engine changes – too many to mention!!

Since I’ve only been with the company for about 6 months I’ve only worked on one – Watchkeeper (pics on my profile). As a graduate engineer for the company they’ll try to put me on as many projects as they can so I can get a little bit of experience in all of them.

I’ve worked on a few ‘mini’ projects since I’ve started such as developing an LED system for a plug-in car to tell you how much you have charged the battery and I’ve worked on some research projects such as finding the best strategy for keeping the battery charged while driving long distances.
