      Hello hannahx,

      Thanks for the question. My first every engineering project was to build a frame for a boiler to be used in a power station – I had to calculate the size needed, then cut all of the material to the right sizes and then put it all together. It was a scary moment when it was put in place because i thought it wouldn’t fit but luckily my maths was correct and it fitted like a glove!!

      My first project on the C17 was to replace a generator on one of the engines. The generator is attached to the engine so when the engine turns, it powers the generator which then provides electricity to the aircraft – its a very important piece of equipment because it powers all of the instruments in the cockpit!!
