Question: Do you enjoy building things on river Thames?

Some things are more fun than others! Like last winter we were fixing some lock gates in Reading and some of my colleagues were working underwater to do it. So they had to break through ice on the river and then put on their diving suits and go to work underwater. Fortunately for me I was just supervising so I didn’t have to get cold!
I’m currently work on a project to dredge a lot of places on the River Thames – which means getting a digger on a boat and then digging up huge piles of mud from the bottom of the river and finding somewhere else to put it. I quite like this as it is very messy and I also get to spend a lot of time on a boat making sure it all goes to plan.
