Hmm I’m not sure there are that many famous engineers. I know some engineers that are well known for their work in flooding or rivers, but they are only well known to other people who work with rivers.
Sorry to disappoint you, but no because I am not into this celebrity thing at all. Also, the trouble is that “proper” well-known engineers like Brunel aren’t around any longer. Pity, he’d have been brilliant to listen to, I imagine.
When you are immersed in an industry, especially researching something, the real key figures who publish loads of stuff become like celebrities. I have met people in conferences and found myself almost unable to talk to them because they are so famous in the water field.
