At primary school, geography because we learned about so many exotic places – perhaps that was what gave me an appetite for travel. At secondary school, it was undoubtedly mathematics because we had an immensely gifted teacher who made it fun. I have to say that I also enjoyed chemistry as that was where I learned how to make extraordinarily loud bangs – and digusting smells – things much admired by young boys.
I really liked English as I was into writing my own stories. At university I studied philosophy and politics because I thought it sounded interesting – which it was! I only got into engineering later on and had to study extra maths and then I studied river engineering. I’ve always quite liked maths too, well when I can find the answers that is!
I loved PE when we got to play basketball. But not the athletics.
I enjoyed many classes if the teacher was nice: English Literature, History, Physics, Geography
I reasonably enjoyed maths as I was good at it, but the teacher wasn’t very nice, so I never looked forward to the class.
I enjoyed the debates that we had in Literature and History. Physics was great fun. And the Geography teacher was easily the best teacher i have ever met.
