      Hi Amy
There are lots of things on the River Thames that are built – for example try googling ‘teddington lock’. This is a site near London that has lots of lock gates and weirs – which control the water and let boats travel up and down the river. These places need repairing and replacing every now and again.
I also do other work like repairing river banks, dredging, building moorings for boats to stay at, building footbridges for people to walk on and sometimes (if I’m lucky) river restoration work which tries to improve the river for wildlife.
      So lots to do!
