• Question: Do you design anything, and if so what do you design? Also would you ever get to go to space?

      I design lots of things, some small and easy, others much more complex. Yesterday I had to design a stand for a solar pump that I’m working on. The stand took about 20 minutes to design, and an hour to make. I have been working on the pump for over 4 months now, and still have a long way to go with it. I’m also designing some turbocharger parts for the next generation of car engines due for launch in 2020, so that gives you an idea of the range of timescales that can be involved.
      As far as getting to space, I would love to, although I’m probably a bit old to be starting on something like that now!

      most of my work is in testing at the moment so not design but what I am testing will go to space, it is called ExoMars and will launch in 2020
