I think when I completed my first project after few months at work I felt a bit more like an engineer

In engineering, there are always new things to learn, so you always keep developing. However, there are a couple of major milestones I remember. The first time I was given complete responsibility for a project, including all the finances and management was significant, I would have been about 25 at the time. The other was when I gained my Chartership, which shows that I have been recognised as a professional engineer by my peers, which took until I was 32.

I am still relatively new and there is always things to learn. I am still a graduate engineer till the end of September so probably after that I would consider myself a proper engineer.
