• Question: How long does it take to design a structure or machine?

      Depends how complicated it is, it can take few weeks or years. A simple structure might take a day to design where large machines can take a year or two.

      I agree with Agata’s answer. Some things can be designed very quickly by one person, a simple frame for example. Designing an aeroplane takes a huge team of engineers several years though.
