Being an engineer is more than a full time job, it is a way of life. I don’t stop having ideas and thoughts about projects I work on just because I’m not in the office, I have ideas on the train, at home watching TV, in the garden…
It’s something you get used to, even though you might not have planned it that way. I don’t have any other jobs, although I do a lot of voluntary work on the weekend and in the evenings.
It’s my full time job and I usually wind up doing more hours than I’m supposed to – I tend to get carried away with my work!
I also get involved with various STEM activities like this one which is voluntary on top of my normal working hours.
