I entered via attending University and studying a 3 year BEng Degree. I then found my first job and transferred to the Siemens Graduate Scheme.

My friend Helen joined Siemens as an Administration assistant at 16. She then joined the apprenticeships scheme before being sponsored to go to University and is now a Senior Engineer (the same as me). It has taken Helen a little longer as she is a little older than me. Being an apprentice hasn’t stopped her doing anything.

There is a video here of Helen talking about Engineering:

      Hi Beechers99,

I also went to uni, I did a 4-year bachelor’s in the United States (where it takes 4 years).

I went to University however you can do apprenticeships and there are many other routes too. It is such a versatile and diverse industry.
