• Question: Do foundation have to be deeper the taller the building?

      Hi 522amph45,

      Even though I am not a civil engineer, I do believe there is no straight answer for this question. There are so many factors that need to be considered such as: the soil of the construction site, material of the building, risk of seismic activity, rock foundation, among others. I would expect foundations to vary a lot more based on these facts than in how tall the building is.
