      Hi Sif,

In essence, that is the objective of engineering. Improve designs or come up with new concepts that make things more efficient. In my case, my work is about designing a new concept for aircraft wings that would help cutting fuel consumption and reduce noise, which are both related to efficiency.

      Hi Sif,

Yes, I try to make things and processes more efficient, user friendly , cost effective and fit for purpose. It can be difficult to achieve all these objectives but that is the biggest challenge as an engineer and what keeps the job interesting for me.

Yes, I’m looking at ways that can move trains around whilst reducing the amount of energy they use. To accelerate a train requires lots of energy. By not stopping them we don’t waste that energy so it means that we are more efficient.
