I always liked aeroplanes and I wanted to be a pilot at some point. Then, I started really liking physics and maths so doing Aerospace Engieering was a way to combine both science and maths with aeroplanes!
It was easy for me because I loved teaching and i could see that they was a need to incorporate more technology to make it easier to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
In most cases the choice you make is influence by what you love and are passionate about?
If you are still thinking about which area of engineering then ask yourself what are you into , cars, planes, computer,programming, etc this could help.
It was always civil engineering for me. Construction was my interest. With regard to specialising in water, that just happened really. There were opportunities in this part of the business.
I went for an “Engineering Winter School” while still in high school and Electronic Engineering looked like the coolest option.
I considered other choices such as business, health sciences, and actuarial science but the versatility of an engineer seemed awesome.
I am somewhat of a creative in that I love writing and creating stories. However, I also felt that I could make a bigger impact on the planet with engineering. So my decision was also based on what I can do for the world rather than just what I liked.
