A normal engineering undergraduate course is 3 or 4 years at University.

If you wish to go the apprenticeship route you will be an apprentice for netween 2 and 4 years and will also go to college too. You would gain an NVQ Level 3 or an NVQ Level 4 and an HNC at the end.

As an apprentice you will also be working and being paid by a company rather than paying university tuition fees.

Siemens has more information here http://www.siemens.co.uk/careers/en/students/apprenticeships.htm

      Hi Izzy,

Here in Bristol, you can do either a 3-year Bachelor’s degree or 4-year Masters. Also, you could take an extra year and go work in industry before finishing your degree. Another option is to do your third year abroad!

      Hi Izzy,

It really depends on what you want to do and where you study. The average is about 3-4 years if you want to include a year out in placement.

Loughborough University is great for different engineering.

do you know which area you want to go in?

      Sheryl
