      Hey, thanks for the question.

It would be a lot harder if I didn’t enjoy it so much, I think.

It can be really hard sometimes because the machines don’t work or you get an unexpected result and you don’t understand why and you have to think of why it might have happened and you have no teachers around to ask and it’s not in any textbooks.

You also have to read a lot about what other people have done to see if it can help and be applied to your problem. You need to use evverything you’ve learned and apply it to the problem. You need to write about your problem so other people know about it, and often you have to write about it to a deadline.

However, it’s definitely worth it. Getting the answer is a very good feeling! Especially if you’re the first person to get the answer and you worked it out on your own. Also, if your answer can help other people – that’s amazing! Because you’ve made a difference.

And it’s not all hard work. You can get the results you were expecting or a part is stronger than it was before or when you’re building something, it goes perfectly. Also, my colleagues always bring in cake and biscuits to help us through the working day which is good.
