I had to teach apprentices how to take all the measurements and what tolerances to work at on site. I went through one foundation with them so that could understand what I have to do and then I watched them do their own foundation.
The things I taught them:
How to take a GPS measurement
How to use the distometer
Use of an inclonometer
Use of an anonometer
Use of a sound meter
How to record the information on a tablet
What documents to refer to if there are any on site queries
Explained why we need to keep to there tolerances.

Hi,
I last “taught” someone something new a few hours ago. had to show my boss/linemanager how to do something on his computer…..
Earlier in the day, I demostrated how to check power is leaving a new type of “fuseboard” to my co-worker. ( it has a safety switch that can be frustrating if you don’t know it’s there )
I’ll be doing a lot more “teaching” in a few weeks, when the next Work Experience student visits for a week, and maybe a few weeks after that when the next apprentice heads our way ( or not as applicable )
Throughout my apprenticeship we would all teach other different things as we were all better at different things. I was good at the academic side and so would help with that where possible. Since then, I have taught people how to use the CAD package Solid Edge and supervised work experience students and apprentices which involves a lot of teaching!
