      Hi rattyvlogger,

To stay up-to-date I subscribe to a magazine as well as talking a lot with my fellow colleagues. We actually develop a lot of new technologies here, however, of course many other companies do too. I’ve also found that I F#@*/!g Love Science on facebook is an excellent source for new science and tech stories 🙂

      rattyvlogger – that’s a good one 🙂
I keep an eye on the “digital press” eg the releases on the usual news sites, and STFC’s own website – it’s quite usefull. Those 2 methods let me see what’s new, though, a lot of my job involves keeping the technology from yesterday ( or last century / last millenium ! ) working, so I have to keep that up to date as well. – Today’s task is fault finding on something with parts ( capacitors, as per picture ) built in 1984… and components designed in the 1920’s !, ( Vacuum tubes ) so jumping from new tech to old tech can take some doing.
I find my activities with STEMnet help keep me aware of the new-ish tech. like Arduinos/rasbery pi type devices, and help with my understanding of that
