      Hi Clíodhna and Cara,

I had a lecturer at University who told us about all the things in hospitals that were invented by medical engineers and that made me think that it would be a really interesting job to have. Before that I hadn’t really thought about how those machines had been created.

      Best wishes,
      Sophie

Indeed. I believe that many experiences led me to where I am. For example, as a child I was always unscrewing all the things around me, wanting to see how they work. My friends and family influenced me indirectly as well

I wish I had a good answer with lots of cool experiences :)! I had an inspiring physics teacher at high school who used to tell the class stories of inventors and scientists and how medicine had developed over the years. I probably wouldn’t be in the job I’m in now if she hadn’t inspired me to think of careers in engineering.

Not really I kinda fell into engineering. But looking back I knew I wanted to help people and medical engineering allowed me to help but still study maths which during a levels I loved.
