• Question: Do you ever get bored of what you do? Is it ever repetitive?

      Hi Shannagh,

      Science and engineering, especially research can get boring sometimes (not all the time). That is because we have to repeat our experiments in order to make sure that the result we got were correct. This is because sometimes things go wrong but you don’t notice! So you need to do it again a few times to check the result you got can be repeated and are the same each time. However the results can be interesting even if the process can be boring so it is worth carrying on even if for that day it seems boring (perhaps like school).

      Some smaller things are repetitive, like writing code or assembling same 3D-printed pieces, but the goals change since sometimes you cannot envision the final outcome at the very beginning of a project

      Sometimes but I try to mix up the tasks I have to do to keep things interesting!

      It gets boring when you have tried something numerous times for it only to fail. after the 10th time this can get boring and frustrating.

      It is partly repetitive because testing happens on samples making those samples is defo repetitive but once i have the samples i can do cool things with them. SO have to get past the boring stuff so we can have fun.
