      It is true, you never know what inspires you and cats inspired a recent Nobel Prize. I had no such inspiration yet – you never know when it will hit you.

      I have one ready to go. I’d use machine learning, a Web cam and an automatic catflap to recognise my cat and open the flap but reject all other cats just based on facial features (he’s uniquely patterned)

      Unfortunately not, as I don’t have a pet since a long time, some of my past research was inspired by fencing though (it helped me to spot some things). If one day my daughter will ask for a little hamster or a similar animal, I wouldn’t mind building a little track or playground for her together with my daughter so everyone will have a lot of fun
