That is a very good question. I’m afraid that I do not know the answer. I know that they rely on understanding a lot about many different aspects of science and the way materials behave. They are the result of many years of scientific research and engineering to connect all the different pieces together to make a system that is capable of very complex tasks.

Sorry I can’t be of more help! But keep the questions coming!

This is a hard one- I went to a talk about micro-processors recently, I expect they have much to do with it! I think lots of different types of engineering comes together to make a computer work.

No idea – computers are a bit of a mystery to me!

When my computer at work doesn’t work I think that either feeding the hamster inside it (my work computer is old and slow)or hitting it will get it to work! Failing that I could through it out the window!?!?!

Sorry I can’t offer anything else on the subject.

      Errrm.
Having used the link from Jaz – I now know!
It’s all about learning new things – not just you, but us engineers as well!
