Its important to like the people you work with, not all of them but some of them at least 🙂
I really like the people i work with and stay in touch with people i have worked with in the past. I see them at energy events and we go to the same exhibitions so its good that we get to catch up
•I’ve made some really great friends through work some who are in my team and some at other offices. It helps that we’ve got a shared interest in what we do!
I wouldn’t say I’m close to everyone in the office – but everyone is very pleasant so it’s a good place to work.
Yes! Despite working at a university we are all very normal people. It is much more fun to work with people you get on well with (sometimes it doesn’t even feel like work!)
It’s also great to keep in touch with old friends as engineering is such a global career you’ll quickly find you have friends all over the world!
I get on with people at work and would say I am friends with some of my colleagues, but I tend to avoid socialising with my work colleagues too much…I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself when I’m out on the town with them!
Conferences and supplier events allow a certain amount of social time with colleagues too.
