      Hi Chris,

      I love that my job is so varied. Everyday is a new challenge and its not the same old things that I’m doing. There is always new energy saving technology to look into, new energy policies or new staff in store to train on good practice. I also love the discount i get on my debenhams shopping 🙂

      The challenge of bringing the lights back on! It is a bit funny in that I hope my work isn’t used – but knowing we have good plans should it happen makes me feel that I’ve achieved something good.

      When a project finishes on site, and we can look and point at it and say “I DID THAT!”. It’s very rewarding to see your hard work get built and used by people.

      Hi Chris,

      Overall I like the variety and freedom my job gives me. I don’t have managers on my back hassling me, I work in a lovely office and I get to visit places like the Lake District for work…and I get to play with some pretty cool kit 🙂

      I like all the different people I get to meet, the cool places I get to visit and the interesting problems I get to think about. The sense of satisfaction from solving a problem will never get old – there is a high level of job satisfaction!

      The worst thing that can happen in my area of engineering is if a building were to catch fire and then burn down. This obviously creates a dangerous situation and results in loss of lots of money and lots of pollution but it also shows that we do not know everything and we have to do a better job. As long as we learn from the mistakes we can reduce the risks in future.
