• Question: what is your oppinion in global warming these days as it confuses me

      Hi Katherine,

      This is a very good question. It is at the top of many people’s list of concerns.

      A very high percentage (more than 96% I think) of scientists say that global warming is happening and that human activity is the most likely cause.

      This is a huge challenge for engineers because most of the things that we do need a lot of energy and this means a lot of carbon dioxide emissions. However there is a great opportunity for Engineers to help reduce global warming by thinking of new, more efficient machines or new ways to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. These are two huge topics in Engineering right now and there is a lot of excitement about these new technologies.
