• Question: If you could change one thing in your job what would it be?

      I would like to spend more time on site rather than in the office!! I will get to do that soon, once we start building the platform and pipelines we are designing, so I just have to be a bit patient :).

      There needs to be a better gender balance in engineering. I was in a meeting in San Diego this week with around 600 engineers. There were fewer than 10 women engineers. There were 590 middle aged men. Engineering is much more exciting than that!

      In my area, software, I saw a statistic that 98.7% of people who write technical software are male. Why?

      Meetings! My job has too many meetings – it’s where we “talk about work” instead of “doing work”.

      Don’t get me wrong, we need to plan properly as engineers – but I don’t need to attend so many meetings
