There are hundreds of possible answers to that question. There are plenty of incredible medical inventions such as anaesthetic, pacemakers and life saving surgical techniques.
However, I’m going to pick something that I use every single day, it helps millions of people every day and was invented in my life time. Can you guess what it is?
Hi tamsin081299
There are so many answers to this.
There are many devices that have saved millions of people around the world – obviously ones like pacemakers or medical devices, to less obvious ones like seat belts, air bags, and indeed the crash test dummy!
But overall, I think I’m going to have to agree with Alex, as it’s something I use every day and it’s very important to my work 🙂
Sliced bread! No… I think that the best ‘invention’ ever is the development of agriculture. I suppose this doesn’t technically count as a single invention, but if it hadn’t been developed we wouldn’t have been able to settle in one place and develop ideas and invent other things as we’d all still be wondering nomads where everyday would be about getting enough food and finding shelter to survive.
If I had to chose a single invention it would be the battery. Without it we’d still have to wind a handle on our cars up to start them up; man wouldn’t have made it to the moon; we wouldn’t have laptops or mobile phones, and renewable power from the sun and wind would be useless as we couldn’t use it when we wanted to.
