A French polisher is a person that uses traditional hand skills to prepare and treat wood. They mainly work with furniture – creating new pieces and restoring old ones – but can also be involved in making pianos or ornate staircases. It seems to be quite a creative form of design and I think I’d have enjoyed it if I’d decided to go down that route, but I definitely prefer engineering!
