I work at the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering in the University of Leeds. I’m based in the mechanical engineering laboratories as we do a lot of mechanical testing, but I work with a lot of biologists and doctors as well – we’re not just engineers. I also spend some time at the local hospital where I’m looking at different medical imaging methods of the foot, and also measuring how all the joints in your foot move when you walk.
I work at the University of Bath in the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies. I work in labs in chemical engineering, chemistry and pharmacy – and do a lot of walking in between them all! I’m also hopefully going to Brazil later this year to work in one of their national laboratories and carry out a series of tests on some of the materials I’ve made in order to determine whether they’re suitable for cell growth.
I work at the University of Oxford in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, which is part of the Department of Engineering. My research group is the Computational Health Informatics (CHI) group. Our building is located close to the two major hospitals in Oxford, which makes it just a quick bike ride to talk with our clinical collaborators.
I work in the Machine Learning Research Group, part of the Robotics Group, at the University of Oxford. It is located in the middle of town, next to a very ugly building (but ours is lovely), and it is a very quick ride from my college, which means food and bed are very close at hand, and you’ll come to know that as engineer, you will worship both.
