• Question: why does bacteria spread?

      Hey mee3megemel,

      Bacteria are cells, and they divide and multiply (a process called ‘mitosis’) and increase in number much quicker than human cells. They do this as they are often simpler than human cells and have a faster metabolism.

      Bacteria cells are also really small and have evolved to live in all kinds of places. They can float in the air (thats why they spread from sneezes) and in water (dirty stagnant water) and even near volcanoes and deep water near vents in the earth’s crust.
