• Question: How can you be a good engineer?

      Hi Hannah,

      Ooh big question. I think a good engineer is one who does not allow themselves to be limited. They think outside the box, are open to new ideas, they work together and share ideas with their work mates.

      My other tips (what I try to do):
      – Read. Be aware of what is happening in the engineering world. What have been the latest inventions? Where is the medical technology market going?
      – Talk to people. What problems do you hear about? Have others noticed these? What do they think of your possible solutions?
      – Keep experimenting and don’t give up.
      – Admit failures. Be honest! No one has got anywhere by pretending they have developed something that had actually not worked. It’s ok to fail, you learn from it. Just keep trying!
