In some engineering disciplines, there will be more of a health risk than others. When you start any job you have to do a risk assessment of the risks that are involved with that job so you can make sure you do it safely. Usually by wearing protective clothes

It depends a bit on the type of engineering. When I work in the lab so I need to wear gloves and a labcoat. When I’m doing computery things, the biggest health risk is sitting down for too long!

Yes, but we do a lot of work to minimise risks. Sometimes it’s quite boring, but you need to do it so no one gets hurt!

Only your sanity if you have a particularly challenging problem, but seriously, if you follow the correct procedures and use appropriate protective equipment, there is no risk to your health.

There can be but everyone takes safety very seriously so you are never in situations that are dangerous in ways you dont know. People will train eachother on all the different stuff so we all look out for eachother as well.
