Blimey! That’s a question I hadn’t thought about.
Computers, test machines, hand tools (screw drivers, files, saws etc), manufacturing machines. . . . It depends what type of work I am doing, design, analysis, making prototypes, even pencil and paper for initial concept sketches.
I’m sure there’s more if I had longer to think about it. I hope this answers your question.
so many thingggs! honestly I had to write a list of all the things i used in my thesis and it’s currently 5 pages long.
Mainly:
microscopes
gold on glass coverslips (i get the gold on the glass by using a thermal evaporator)
brains &everything they need (which is a lot)
Wow ok, usually I used:
– powders to make glass
– glass
– metal disks
-polishing machine
– sandblasting machine
– coating machine
– machines to test the coatings
– cell media and test chemicals for human cells tests
-bacterial media and chemicals for bacterial tests
– optical microscopes
– Electron microscopes which can zoom in more!
What I’ve personally used, in terms of equipment:
Optical microscopes (fluorescent, confocal, …), Atomic Force Microscopes, Ultrasound scanning systems, a lot of computers!!!!
Other objects would be: a lot of “plasticware” for cell culture, coverslips and slides, …
Substances: very often ethanol, deionised water, also cell media, PDMS, …
