I don’t think there is a “best” project. Every project has its challenges and accomplishments.
Saying that I am off flying to New York next week to play with a GIANT X-RAY LASER ! so yeah. I’m excited about that.

I really enjoy my current project, which is looking at using electronic devices to control the body’s nerves after they’ve been injured. Doing research engineering is a lot of opportunity to try different ( and brand-new) things and to travel to which is great!

My current project is my favourite project.
I make surfaces out of patterned gold. I then have to make sure my brain cells will be happy living on them using different surface chemistry. When I know they’ll be happy I put my brains on them and leave them in an incubator a few weeks to mature and settle. When they’re ready I put them on my microscope, take a tiny pipette and insert it into the brain cell. I then stimulate the cells (put small amounts of current in to make it active) then I record the light intensity changes using a camera.

My Master’s project was really cool, I was helping design particles that could help find and treat brain tumours. I felt that my work could really help people.

I’ve only really worked on my current project so I’d have to say this one!
