There are lots of routes to becoming an engineer. lots of people either go down the University degree route or the route of doing an apprenticeship within a company. both are great for different people! there is lots of information on the Royal Academy of engineering website http://www.raeng.org.uk/education/what-is-engineering/routes-into-engineering-careers

To become an engineer you just need enough qualifications to get onto an apprenticeship.

There are so many ways into engineering it depends on how you like to learn! Normally either A levels and a degree or an apprenticeship I think.
