I guess find a full time job. I’m not sure the academic life is for me. The constant need to write papers and applications for grants doesn’t seem like the kind of career I want in the future. I’d love to stay in research but I think I’ll look to industry.
I feel like Carmel and I agree on a lot of things! I’ll also be looking for a full time job. It’s a shame because I really enjoy the teaching I do and the research I do here at Uni but I’m not sure I’d want to stay because the jobs are really stressful and full of other stuff I don’t like. I would really like to end up like Brian Cox and make engineering programmes for TV or radio to help other people get excited about Engineering.
Wow, I think Carmel, Kath and I are very much on the same wavelength! I also would like to find a full time job and am currently leaning towards doing more science communication and public engagement, i.e. organising workshops and demonstrations for children and adults to show how awesome science and engineering is, and why it is important.
