  Hi 11maxbonc2, that’s not actually me on the end of the rope (even if some of my colleagues wish it was!) – I am safely behind the camera in that shot. The picture was taken whilst the spire part at the very top of the Shard was being constructed. Basically a crane lifts the beams into place and those guys hanging on the ropes bolt the beams together to make a frame – like a giant meccano set! Meccano may well be a thing of the past, I’m not sure, hopefully they will make an engineering game for the xbox sometime soon…
