• Question: Do you want to convince other people to become an engineer

      Yes I do actually. I think I have had a good experience and our work is not all that well understood. Increasingly engineering and innovation is critical to success of an economy. Just look at manufacturing in Germany or productivity in teh USA. That kind of performance is about engineering and processes – there is a lot to do and its interesting. So if I can demystify it a bit that’s good.

      Only if they already think they might enjoy it. I think that’s one of the most important things when you’re thinking about a career.

      Only if they want to be an engineer. What I want more than anything is to show people what engineering is and what they can achieve if they do want a career in the industry. If they decide it’s not for them, then that’s fine, but I almost missed out on a great career because I didn’t know it existed.

      Yes as everyone has their own talents and skills to contribute! Of course we all need all sorts of jobs to keep the country running, but I’m biased!

      Just want to make sure people know what the role of an engineer is and what they could be missing out on.
