• Question: which part is an important in mechanical field (maths/physics)??

      This is a bit of a strange one because maths is kind of the language you need to speak to do Physics – but you don’t really get a sense of that at school, so it’s a bit artificial.

      If you’re looking for which is the most useful qualification, I’d say Maths – some of the Mechanics modules in the Maths A-levels have more Physics in them than some of the Physics courses!

      But that’s just my opinion.

      I think they are both quite important and if possible try to study them both as long as possible! But overall I’d agree with Rain, maths is probably the most useful qualification.

      Yeah, same here, maths is the foundation that physics builds on.

      In my very own opinion, there’s something tiny bit dodgy about maths, especially ‘infinity’ as it doesn’t exist, it is an impossibility (a bit like biology trying to talk about dragons and unicorns…!) and a lot of mathematicians are happy with the number 1 being 1 for its own sake, when in the real world it has to represent something! My maths teachers after all did go “Andy, Andrew! Stop being awkward and pay attention!” (I bet loads of people would want to have their say on this! – And what about you?)

      Apart from the above, maths really is the ultimate of our understanding of everything else, and much too important to skip over 😉

      I think For me mechanics was closes to Physics but that might have been more about the courses I studied. I also did applied maths which (from memory) contained aspects of mechanics.
