Hi,
In my opinion the biggest con of an electric car is its battery, currently these are pretty big, pretty expensive and can get pretty hot!
However, as technology advances I do think this will improve (look at how mobiles, laptops, tablets etc and their how batteries have developed). The harder thing is the fact that the infrastructure (that is to say the facilities such as charging points) are not currently in place. So at the moment fully electric cars are only good for short journeys, or where you know that there will be a charging point. However, there are some great compromise vehicles out there which combine a normal petrol engine with a electric motor/battery, so that you can use one or other depending on the type of journey you are making; these motors can also charge the battery during use (think of KERS technology in Formula One).
