• Question: as an engineer how many company's are desperate for engineers to hire?

      Put it this way. We are having to recruit overseas to keep up with the demand due to work that we have for the future!

      There are not enough engineers, scientists or technologists in the UK to support the industry.

      Oh lots and lots of them! Brompton have been recruiting engineers the whole time I’ve been here which is over 2 years. We can never find enough good engineers, there just aren’t as many as we need in the UK.

      I get phoned up by recruiters a lot these days which means that a lot of companies are looking for engineers.

      A lot of our engineers and technicians also come from overseas as there just aren’t enough from the UK to meet demand. Sitting next to me at work is a guy from Ireland, one from Malaysia, and a woman from Poland!
