• Question: Does the height of a flag pole effect the wind pressure of the flag

      It surely does. When things are close to the ground they are generally sheltered from minor gusts however as you go up and up the protection and exposure increases!

      Its not just the top of the flag exposed, the foundations also have greater ‘turning motion’ force which is the wind trying to rip the whole thing out of the ground.

      You go higher you need bigger foundations or larger pilings (long tubes drilled into the ground)

      Yes, wind speed increases when you are up higher because there is less stuff like trees and buildings to slow it down.
