I joined, after finishing college, an organisation as a technician. I then worked to gain hands on experience whilst studying and then progressed after going through performance reviews and further education along the way.
I always loved challenging problems and maths was my favourite subject. When I was thinking about University I wanted to study a degree that gave a broad view of different problems and solutions and so I decided to study Biomedical Engineering because I could learn a bit of all engineerings, I had lectures by all departments and that was a huge enriching experience. I love the idea of knowing a bit of everything and that is very important on my current job as a computational biologist: I can perform biological experiments, talk to medical doctors, do computer programs and mathematical models and more interestingly I can put it all together and have the bigger picture!
