Within engineering freedom helps you express your thoughts and ideas then share them with the wider group. Engineers are given freedom so they can come up with a fantastic solutions to problems that no one else can think about.

Quite a bit – my boss decides what projects we will do, but we all help to make up the longlist and normally we assign them based on who wants to do them most. When I get a project my boss will say what timeline he has in mind, but I decide how to investigate and I generate the ideas, and get a big say in which one we should pick. I find that people much higher up in the company will listen to you a lot because you are the technical expert.
