• Question: Tell me about your experience in dealing with routine engineering work. How do you keep from getting bored?

      Sometimes if I am doing something I am not so interested in I convert it into a way that I can think about it more easily.

      I break the task down and try to find fun from something that may not appear to be that ‘fun’.

      Oh it can get really really boring. Drawing updates are the worst, because it is boring AND really important. You have to concentrate so hard. I get settled with a nice cuppa tea, listen to music or sometimes I stick a podcast or radio 4 program on so that my bored brain can learn something new. I try to switch between routine and fun tasks so I never have to do a whole day at the computer.
