• Question: What did your friends and family think of your dream to be an engineer and were they always supportive?

      They say they always knew I would be because I was always taking things apart and trying to fix stuff!

      They think its great because the know that I have worked very hard to get where I am

      My Mum and Dad were a little bit surprised I think because I used to really get on well with lots of written, academic work at school and they thought I would stick with that. But they were really pleased for me that I’d found something that made me happy, and encouraged me lots. Actually my Dad is a Physicist and he designs optical chips, so when I was in my late teens we found out there is lots similar about our professions. My parents are very proud of me, and I’m really glad I had their support.
