  Teaching at Manchester was a completely new experience! To start I taught Matlab to 1st year engineering students and I didn’t know what was their background because I’d just arrived in the UK so no clue about the education system! Then the group was huge, it is was more than 100 students in the same room with 4 assistants like myself and only 2h per week! But the students made it for me, they were enthusiast and at the end I got a thanks card, something I’ve never seen before because we don’t do those kind of gestures in Portugal!
