• Question: How committed are you to your job, and would your ever consider changing your occupation?

      I really enjoy my job, but I am aware that to move to the next level within management, I will have to work in a variety of roles to demonstrate a breadth of experience. Whilst I will probably change jobs in the next few years, it will still be within engineering.

      As i am only in the beginning of my career i do feel like i will move around in the future to see if there is a better suited role for me .I do plan to stay in the field of engineering as it is so vast and constantly changing and always relevant. But for now the role i am in has my full commitment and dedication.

      I absolutely love what I do and always want to work within engineering, specifically focusing on something to do with tackling climate change. However, there are many different jobs within that and very much like the idea of trying lots of different things!

      I love my job at the moment, and it is the place I need to be. The graduate scheme I am on is perfect for development t the moment, but there may come a time when I need to move on to somewhere else to get the experience I want/need. The great thing about STFC where I work is that there are plenty of opportunities to move around to completely different types of jobs, and the site I am on is full of space companies. We will have to see, but I don’t plan on going anywhere just yet.

      I enjoy my job. If the time came and it felt right, I might consider changing my job. I would change my job for something less stressful and maybe not paid as much.
